LG, just read this thread, how awful, got to agree, once by the dog owners you can deal with but not twice. Maybe they wouldn't react in the same way if it wasn't a chicken the dog had but a small child, bit extreme I know, kept dogs myself, but you can never be sure! Glad to hear they are on the mend

This just isn't fair on your chooks or on you and your family!!! To be on edge all the time wondering if the dog is terrorising the chooks when you're not there and the chooks having to hide away in their coop just doesn't bear thinking about!!!! I think you have to get their reassurance that the dogs won't be allowed out until the fence is fixed and that it's impossible for them to get into your garden.
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

        That's disgusting Lettuce.
Owners could have got themselves to a diy place and got fencing, gravel boards or whatever is required to contain their dogs.

I'm a dog owner and secured my garden when I brought them home because I was anxious to keep them safe AND for them not to annoy my neighbours.

I think I'd be inclined to tell them you'll shoot the dogs if they trespass on your property and threaten your chickens again.

Just a quick update. All is looking good! Belinda is fighting back when I try and give her the antibiotics ( good sign she's better) and doing all normal chickeny things like preening etc. Quite funny to watch as theres more bald patches than feathers but hey ho. All eating drinking normally but no eggs from two off them so just hoping they come back to lay OK and there's no other probs.

That's good to hear LG! When 2 of mine put their heads through the new electric fence (switched on ) they went off lay for a few days then we had some funny eggs but back to normal in about a week. So hopefully your girls will settle and start again before too long.

Oh heck. We've got the electric fence all in place, now I'm scared to switch it on 'cos my lot think it's for climbing up and as soon as I open the back door they all stick their necks through it. I know I've got 3 boys to get rid of but don't want the girls fried too.

Why not switch it on when they've gone to bed Frias?

One little zizz each in the morning will discourage them from climbing.

That seems reasonable. Might not tell OH it's switched on either. He could use a little zizz in the mornings.

Just remember not to wear an underwired bra and bend over too close to the fence, else you'll zizz and jiggle
