Why's nowt ever easy???

We've finally sorted out a convenient time for Andi & the chap that's going to help cull to be at the lottie & do the deed.
Now...one of the boys seems in less than perfect health!
This morning when I went to feed them he seemed quite drowsy...perked up for some food but once eaten went back to sleeping in the middle of the run.Also his vent(?is it a vent on a boy?)is a bit mucky.
Would peeps on here still consider him fit for consumption or would we be better to try & work out what's wrong with him first?
We think he's the only one not crowing yet so there's no huge hurry for him to go.

I'd leave him for now then...(he's probably heard something along the grapevine!!)

Andi rather wanted to hold onto one of the Legbars anyway for possible breeding....just a shame the poorly one isn't the best looking!

I think then we'll hold off on culling him for now...last thing we need,now that we've convinced the kiddies it's the right thing to cull & eat our boys,is for us to all fall ghastly ill with food poisoning...how many "told you so's" would we be subjected to from them?!

I would leave him be, until you find out what's wrong with him. We have a rule that we only eat birds in good health or the odd one we've culled because of injury.

Can't the chap who is doing the deed kill your other surplus boys though? Then at least you still have a nice roast chicken at the end of it.
