I never realised how much they go. I clean morning and night. And now it's getting warm I've had to set fly traps. But worth it for the look on 6 little faces when I came home to find them looking at me from my vegie patch. They are getting comfortable. Managed to herd them back in like sheep. Too cute.
I love the way we all anthropomorphise our chooks and pets, its so lovely. But then they do all have their own little characters don't they. My Honey (Guinea Pig), understood it when I said 'Honey, where's your bowl?', she'd go up to it and put her nose on it. Then she'd wander away and I'd say it again. She'd go back over to her bowl and put her nose on it again. I defy people that say anything other than dogs or cats are capable of this kind of thinking.
Are your chooks managing with the heat? It's cold here ~ I had to turn the central heating on last night and I'm in the south which is usually much warmer than up North.
I console myself with the thought that picking up chicken poo will pay off with quality veg next year.
If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess
