Brown eyes

Two of my chooks have brown eyes- and they look really pretty.

I was wondering - do specific breeds have set eye colours- or are they a bit of a luck of the draw???

My Bluebelle has brown eyes too. All the others range from quite light yellowy/grey (Warrens) through to deep amber (Black Rock)

I'm sure specific breeds have ideal eye colours, etc. I'm sure I've read about it in the breed profiles in PP.

Chook eyes are gorgeous full stop though, aren't they??

I feel really bad now that I don't know the exact eye colour of my girls!...we've got a fair few breeds now so I shall make it my duty of tomorrow to see which breed is which colour!.....another day excused from the Housie wifie chores!!!
