  • missing roof

Well I got to my barn this morning to find a big section of next-doors stable roof blown off. Nearly three quarters of my ridge tiles and some of the roof tiles have blown off, and one of the falling ridges has gone through the skylight (which is only single thickness glass and was cracked anyway). The chooks are fortunately completely undamaged and far more bothered about my slowness in getting breakfast..due to me being in shock I think.
And the bottom third of the paddock is under water, again!
Reading Shadegrows thread I know Im not the only one. Is it my imagination or is the flooding etc worse than this time last year? Im developing webbed feet.

So glad your girls are ok Hilly. I worry about mine on the allotment as there are huge trees along the perimeter of the site. On days like this I go with bated breath! I think it is wetter this year - I'm having to renew the chippings on the paths more often anyway!

we have ratchet straps down across teh rooves of most of our pens incase they lift off in the wind. there is nothing between us and the main road for 400 acres so when the wind blows, we get it first full force. Sometimes i wonder whether we shoud be bramble poultry or hurricane poultry!
