  • Doing the business!

Strangely how vociferous or vicious a cockerel is doesn't seem to make him more manly!
I've just split up my three cockerels and the most demure of the three, all hatched the same day, is the only one doing the business with his harim.

Gave the, what I thought, would be the 'butchest' cockerel (Silver Sussex) the most laydees and niether him or the Faverolle are interested whilst the Light Sussex is going hell for leather!

They always say it's the quiet ones.................
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

    Diversify & prosper

They are funny aren't they? I have some that would rather try it on with other males than chase a laydee. I have a free ranger that will insist on flying into the fattening pen and "dancing" around the boys in there. I tell him he's wasting his time but he doesn't listen!
