new chicken house with accomodation for five more girls at least was started last weekend, as soon as finished this coming weekend the new babes (and i don't mean babies!!) will arrive, so hopefully a week tomorrow as the chicken man comes to market on a weds! but do you think Mr D is a breed or a cross breed? and of what? and is young Scarlet a Rhodie?

Mr D looks like my Tag (see pici on my profile) he was mixed. Gdad Light sussex, dad Buff Orpington, mum probably welsummer. Could be Welsummer x ?

He is a crossbreed but of what I wouldn't know! She looks like she has Rhodie in her but too light coloured to be pure bred I would say. The standard Rhodie colouring is a lot darker and richer. It may be the way it has come out on the picture though.

I had a little google and found french marans, the comb(crete) looks like M.D's!!
