  • Myrtle's left off her underwear...

She's approx 27 weeks old. Isn't it too early for her to be moulting? It's extremely even feather loss, not at all patchy. Could this be a reaction to the trauma of Teddy grabbing her earlier this week?

Bok nekkid underneath like an oven ready but fully feathered on top and on her thighs. OMG crutchless tights

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

She's still very warm underneath without her drawers on

'Tis most peculiar. The other two are properly dressed for a damp December Saturday.

It may be shock - one of mine moulted after the coop was broken into (same hen both times - left behind) but she was older. Think she now has a rejection complex!

It looks most peculiar when she is head down pecking and bum up

Cod liver oil and garlic powder into the layers pellets tomorrow

I'll have a little word with her and tell her to leave off laying until she's grown new knickers too
