  • First speckledy egg now speckledy combs???

    Hi folks

Have noticed that two of my Barnvelders combs aren't as red as they were and there are tiny white dots/speckles on them.

Is this normal or could it be that the girls are abit "run down"?

They are laying well & seem happy enough.

What do you think? Should I be worried???

tis probably the weather, and if they haven't already moulted, they may be due for one ... you could give em a bit of poultry spice, if it makes you feel better

          Hi there

Think I get the message - so will stop fretting and maybe starting knitting. I could set up a new business selling matching hats & scarves for clucks - I can just see them all in Santa hats going carol clucking.

No seriously, I was concerned they were starting with something - will give them poultry spice butties later though to be on the safe side

          Thanks for your input

I'm so glad I was able to help Gorsty

In return, could you please knit knickers and a vest for Myrtle who has abandoned her underwear
