  • I know poop is supposed to be lucky, but........

Don't design you chicken coop with the roost at the front and the nestbox at the side so that you have to stoop under roosting chooks to collect the eggs..................

    Time for a rethink, methinks!

Had a session today trying to put right my design failure. Moved the roosting bar to the back edge of the nestbox so I'm reasonably safe now collecting eggs!
I also installed a large galvanised hanging feeder from one of the roof trusses, close to the door for filling! It is well off the floor and it will also hold a full 20kg bag of pellets so should cut down on the time I spent feeding the chooks on a daily basis!
I'll get things the way I want them.........eventually!

I'm still trying to sort out my lot, doesn't help keep getting more though!

i solved that by putting a shelf under the roosting bar although needed then to crawl 3 foot on knees to collect eggs

Ahh, so instead of getting pooped on you just got your knees covered in it!
