We've just constructed a 9 x 9 metre run with Heras-type panels (they're about 3 metres each), and I'm currently looking at plastic netting for a top, to keep the girls in and the scavengers out. Google Knowle Nets, they appear to be the cheapest (I was looking this morning ) but they have loads to choose from. I would post a link, but just been yelled at by Mr. G as dinner is ready!

how sturdy? if its a temporary thing, roofing lathes (1.8m x 19mm x 38mm) are really cheap - about 50p each. and you can usually get a 50m roll of standard chicken wire for around £30 from the farmers. For the roof you could get away with crop netting or pond netting.

If its going to be more permanent, then i would suggest stout welded mesh and 2" squre timber. i made up a temporary run for the tukeys when i muck them out using lengths of lathe and an old fruit cage net. it holds them happily for the day, but i wouldnt trust it over night unless it was staked down to some serious wooden posts.
