  • Lovely little cooing sounds of appreciation...

cos I fed my laydees warm mashed potatoes, broccoli, poultry spice and their corn ration mixed in.

I made the mistake of licking some off my fingers, it was vile. The girls loved it though. Myrtle even stayed on the perch until it was all finished

I spoon fed them 'cos they plunged their heads in the other day and I thought they'd suffocate. If anyone had seen us I think they'd have P'd themselves laughing

It contains quite a bit of limestone flour and some minerals. It's also got spices in which makes it smell a bit sort of anniseedy.

Poultry Spice contains Minerals, Micronised wheat, Powdered Ginger, Turmeric, Fenugreek and Aniseed.

It smells heavenly. Chooks like the taste (I don't).

They've politely requested a napkin on which to wipe their beaks as they think it is very common to have to 'wing off' the mash

Does poultry spice make a difference to their egg laying?

Not to the taste, if that's what you mean Petal.

I think it's particularly good for them when they are moulting - which they always seem to do in cold weather!
