  • Federation Show - Stafford

Well folks - well worth the visit in the ice!

Went to the show for around 10am, toured around the pens, not sure how many were actually there but the pen numbers went up to 7500!

they had waterfowl, turkeys, bantams, large fowl - even pigeons!

The sales area was temptaion too far! ended up buying a trio of millefleur barbu d'uccle.

worth going though as we joined the poultry club of great britain, cochin club, pekin club and the belgian bantam club.

our daughter wants to show birds next year so it was worth chatting to old jands about showing the birds. learnt a lot. very friendly too. if you are anywhere near stafford tomorrow, the show is on for the last day. i would recommend it as i have never seen so many birds in one place!

The attached photo shows half of teh poultry pens, there was another room of bantams about half the size again, and another room full of waterfowl!

plus loads of stores to buy poultry related stuff from too!

Oh trust me lots of choice but we only went with the idea of getting some specifics and joining the clubs - now member of the cochin club - so think a holiday in the lakes may be in order - when are you setting the incy

There was lots for sale but not a lot of what we keep so thats why we didn;t buy

                  Absolutely right I do!
However I'll be heading up the M56 to Liverpool to visit OH who collapsed last Sunday with a tear in his heart close to the aorta and has had 13 hours of major heart surgery!
Thankfully seems to be on the mend now so maybe next time ...................................................................

Sue what a frightening thing to happen, best wishes for a speedy recovery. And drive carefully, the roads up this end are very slippery tonight thanks to the rain. And now its freezing again.

The surgeon has said he should be home Tues or Wed but he's just been started on IV antibiotics (chest infection and leaky wound) so I guess it depends how fast they kick the bugs! They don't like transferring to another hospital because of cross infection.
It's raining here at the moment so hoping it doesn't turn to snow ! Journey is virtually all motorway so kept pretty clear.
                          Thanks for your good wishes

Yeah Liverpool from you isn't so bad - done it a couple of times from here and it doesn't take too long - how the heck did he end up in liverpool anyways, from you Oswestry r the specialist heart unit at Stoke - theres always Cheshire oaks en-route (well almost en-route!)

Its stopped raining here now and is freezing hard - so we will be stuck tight (sloping drive!)

Broadgreen is the Regional Heart and Chest centre. It's just under an hour now I've found the correct route!
All our tertiary referrals are to Liverpool apart from Orthopaedics/spinal which go to Gobowen.
