Came home from a friends house last night to find, two, there was another one this morning, and another one just now when I put the girls to bed:



What a Christmas weekend, from finding out that Fanny is a Fred, to getting my first eggs, to rehoming Fred.

I know this happens to you guys and gals all the time, it's just that Im SO happy! I had to share it with you all. Thank you for all your help and advice since I got my girls from Lynda, and of course, a special thank you to Lynda.

The first of many and they will be the best eggs that you ever tasted. I remember our first we were over the moon and still get a buzz from collecting the eggs.

Funny thing that...........I, along with most others will have a piccie of our first egg somewhere on the computer!

Yep, I keep looking at them as well! Not enough time to have one for breakfast, so am thinking we will have them for tea.

sat down to that on boxing day morning. doesnt get any better than a home egg, on home made bread, served with my own bacon and sausage - if only i could grow coffee in the polytunnel.....................................

I never thought of weighing them, I've just looked and stroked them a few times! I had boiled eggs and soldiers for my tea. The yolks were a beautiful golden colour.

Bernie, I still weigh mine.

When they were first laying they were 34g-39g but once a week a 53-59g was left. It made my eyes water on their behalf. Them's only little banties too!

Seem to have settled into 43g-47g now. If you lurk and loiter long enough you'll be able to see who lays what and recognise each girls' output
