My daughter and I have started to dig a large area(normal single allotment size?) where we intend to grow crops specifically for chickens. So far we have thought of: pumpkins,peas, brussels, oats/wheat, sweetcorn. Does anyone have something to add?
Kale is the mainstay for mine.............but grow the large varieties (which were originally bred for cattle food) .......chooks love em, they are VERY productive, can be cut and come again and I like eating them myself!

Savoy cabbage for this time of year - mine will eat half a cabbage in 5 minutes good for yolk colour
Our still have good colour - had to buy some last week and even though they were free range the yolks were pale
