My daughter and I have started to dig a large area(normal single allotment size?) where we intend to grow crops specifically for chickens. So far we have thought of: pumpkins, peas, brussels, oats/wheat, sweetcorn. Does anyone have something to add?

Perpetual spinach and chard. PM me if you would like some seeds that I saved last yearNever test the depth of the water with both feet
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....
Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Yep, I'm for chard too. A fast grower and you can still crop it in winter. I also grow various types of kale. They love it - and so do we!Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Kale is the mainstay for mine.............but grow the large varieties (which were originally bred for cattle food) .......chooks love em, they are VERY productive, can be cut and come again and I like eating them myself! My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
