• Egg at last

Well its finally happened...one of my cream legbar girls has laid an egg. Woohoo...a little greeny/blue one. Saw her scratting round in the nest box earlier and tonight there it was. She's the first of my young birds (which they all are except Mrs Hen) to lay, so its my very first egg for yonks. I'm chuffed. Heres Dainty, clever girl.

Thats lovely! My cream legbar (sadly stolen in the summer) had a beanie hat! I'm hoping to get another later in the year. I just love the blue eggs!

I got her in September, at Carlisle Auction, described as 2009 hatched. They have grown, but comparing the rooster to my own hybrids Im guessing around June hatch. Sadly thats all I know. She and her rooster are non-crested, but the others are crested..beanie hats all round. Here she is again with Silver the rooster.

And just for you Sue here are Caramac and bournville (dont laugh) the other two girls
