  • Cat attack!!!!!

I have some of my chooks billeted in a coop within a hut on the end of my greenhouse. Last night I opened the hut, fed and watered the chooks in the greenhouse then left for the other end of the lottie to do the daily ice breaking routine.
When I returned to the hut doorway a huge black thing jumped from within the hut at my throat. It must have sneaked in while I was at top of allotment.
Bearing in mind that it was dark by then, I got the fright of my life after wrestling with a huge black cat. I don't know who got the bigger shock, me or the cat. I also can't understand why it didn't just try and dart between my legs, rather than go for the jugular.

Luckily there was no one at the allotments as from the yell I let out someone would have thouight I was wrestling with a bear!

An attack in the dark gives anyone permission to yell like a girlie Snadger. I'd have been looking for dry kecks too!

It must have heard about your reputation for popping the rats Snadger and thought it would get in first

oooooooooooooooo scary!!! As long as the chooks are ok though, hearing their "master" screaming like a girl would have given them something to chat about during the night
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I have a water butt by the door of the hut full, with a thick layer of ice on top! As I disentangled the cats talons from my chest I threw the damm thing in the water butt where it did a richochet of the ice and landed on the path nearby.

This was a BIG feral cat and could have been the thing that locals thought was a panther. (The cat gets bigger every time I tell the story!)

When I started relaying the story I needed both hands stretched out to show its size. Now I only use one!

If it'd been more dog-like I'd have said you'd tangled with Black Shuck - but that be darn sarf too.
