barbu chicks are a partridge colour - so being grey is strange normally.
But Sam runs a "split" cockerel with his hens so you will get approx 75% millefleur and 25% porcelain - and of the 75%: 25% will be split themselves so show millefleur but carry porcelain.
If its grey I would suggest you have a porcelain, if its a boy - I want!!!
it should grow up to look like the picture below - although the picture is of a lavender, a porcelain is the same base colour but the white tipping to the feathers is actually creamAttached FilesLast edited by Bramble-Poultry; 14-02-2010, 12:33 PM.

Nope thats a mille fleur - girls have fluffy cheeks from birth, really fluffy like a beard!!! Boys don't they do get them but not from birth because as adults the beard isn't as big - hence the name belgium bearded bantams!!!Last edited by Bramble-Poultry; 14-02-2010, 05:01 PM.

Looks like it has a "beard" therefore I would say hen - not that its a clear shot of her face on. Like I said you should be able to tell for yourself once you pick them up because of the beards, when you look full frontal at the bird the beard is obvious.
Shes got a nice even colour and shes quite light so she is gonna be a lovely golden base colour (which is desirable). When she grows her feathers she will not have much in the way of mille fleur patterning - maybe a few speck of black - the colour actually comes with age. by 1 she should be properly mille-fleured, as she ages she will get more white until they are geriatric when they are nearly all white - its strange but you can age the birds by their markings!!!
