Tricky, he's gorgeous. Soooooo cute
BUFFS - I didn't ask him for it. He knows I want more chooks as my run has felt pretty empty since fox visited in Sept and it was truly heartbreaking cos the bugger took ALL the babies that my two broodies has hatched in July as well as over half of my beloved ex-batts and my Light Sussex banty. It coincided with a pretty rough period for my whole family, and it has taken until now for my enthusiasm to come back.
We were looking for chooks (POL preferably), and fertile eggs kept coming up, so it must have given him the idea. He looked into making one, and did. We will try it with a few eggs, but I'll still get some POL too. If it works, I'll hatch a few more!!
Cock birds will be for table, ladies for laying.
This won OH some serious brownie points!Kirsty b xx

so glad that you are now on the up,there is a certain satisfaction when a project works out,so well done to your OH,i was told about local foxes but managed to get some of the fencing they use round schools/tennis courts etc,its 7 foot high and the roof area is covered by chickenwire(covered by tarpaulin for winter),so i have managed to avoid loss to foxes, and all thanks to reading all the advice given on this site,so much easier to learn from experts, for me its the best thing since sliced bread, knowing you are doing it right, not just guessing as you go along ..thanks all.Last edited by BUFFS; 28-01-2010, 06:49 PM.

Hi Kirsty, hope you have great success .
I made my incubator out of scrap chipwood and a thermostat kit.
Bought my first set of eggs off ebay ,thinking nothing will come of it.
They was advertised as black rocks ?
Only one hatched but hey what an achievement.
I would encourage anyone to have a go.Take photographs today because tommorow you might not have
Together everyone achieves more
