i agree two sheds. the egg isnt really the problem with cholesterol, its how you cook them. Boiled or poached not a problem, but deep fried in lard.........

There is a diet out there somewhere called the egg and grapefruit diet. I remember from my youth.

If you are getting your ' 5 a day' you aren't on the Atkins diet (that is what is wrong with it). On the short list of veg NOT available on even a modified Aykins, sweetcorn comes close behind parsnips and potatoes.

Preserving eggs in summer for when there aren't many in late autum/winter, buy WATERGLASS from the chemist, make up according to the instructions on the packet, label new, clean eggs with the date (in coloured pencil is best, ordinary pencil may soak off, ink may soak through the shell) and place in the liquid, they will sink.
When you want to use them lift them out with a slotted spoon, and try to use the oldest first. If you want to boil them, make a small hole in the large end of the shell to let out air.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.

My problem is that I usually have enough eggs layed each day for my needs + some, its just now I have too many eggs layed each day. It seems pointless preserving them for a dearth that probably will never come?

Yep, but someone did ask how it is done.......
The 'eggy atkins' is a good way of using them up if you also want to lose weight (or you could use the gentler 'high protein diet' which has a lot of similar features to Atkins but is less extreme).

I would imagine that would be Atkins with added five a day, is it? I take multivits but also eat a lot of fruit.

Pretty close, but limited to one fruit a day (the author reckons an orange for Vit C, but I always took Vit C tablets and had whatever fruit I liked, but NEVER banana), unlimited non-starchy veg, and a small slice of wholemeal bread (I often replaced that with an extra fruit).
