when are you all planning to incubate

Soon I hope- just want one of my older gals to go broody- don't want to trust Marans eggs to a first time mom.
Local farmers wife suggested it's better waiting until the first week in March...but.......

Soon I hope!!!!! I've got a Silver Sussex who appears to be doing the business with the ISA's and I only need one more white egg from my Minorcas to give me half a dozen Minorca/LS crosses......hopefully.!

I've seen the Light Sussex with the four ISA's I have with him but never seen him actually doing anything with the Minorcas!

Nothing ventured nothing gained though so I'll give em a try!

Just go for it when you've got either a broody (easiest) or an incubator

...................and be prepared for a high proportion of cockerels and a plan with what to do with them!
