Foxes

As from previous posts I have now set up the Chicken Coop, the plan now being to make it as secure as possible and make sure it is in the most secure position..etc...

What do people use around their Chicken Coops/houses to keep the foxes at bay, someone said that a motion sensor light scares them off and someone else said Flashing bike lights!

Something to stop them digging underneath. You just need to make it secure

I've got extra wire attached to the electric fence, so that if Mr. Reynard comes visiting with a view to either digging under, or climbing over, the Heras fence, he'll get his little nose ZAPPED by a big shock!

I have all the concrete objects I can find around the edges (paving slabs, old gravel boards, fence posts)and pieces of fire guard as well as wire dug into the ground, weld mesh, wire netting roof and electric poultry netting plus in one run some old chain link fencing laid under the turf so the grass grows through it. I also have an ultrasound scarer and a light which has yet to be erected. You can't have too much security against foxes!

I don't think you can deter them - but you can keep them out - I have brick paths round my run and flagstones on the floor (covered in wood chippings)so it can't be dug into. You just need to be really vigilant. When they are out if the run I am in the garden with them.
