Must be a slow news day if that's the best story they can come up with!

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Heard that on the Wireless this morning. Everyone trying to out-mathematic each other - no-one realising that if you've got a flock of teenage chickens, you'll get more double yolkers - till they settle down. We had some corkers but haven't had one for months.

People will ask, "Where were you on the day the Cumbrian lady cracked open six double-yolked eggs?". Today is truly historic and I'm glad to be able to say "I was there!"

Our local egg farm when I was a kid used to tell us which ones would be doubles and let my mum have more of them as my brother used to like them for his brekkie.

Mind you they also used to sell us trays of cracked eggs at a reduced rate and am guessing you can't do that anymore.

Apparently the egg packing company puts the double yolkers on one side and they all end up in the same cartons. They can tell the doubles by candling.

I think Alice gave me a double yolker the other day, she usually lays eggs weighing around 60 - 65g but this one is 96g I'll let you know when I use it

In my paper this morning there's a photo of a 4 yolker! Apparently the record is 9 yolks in one shell

My double yolkers - all when the girls were novices - were no wider than the others, but longer - as if the two yolks were one behind the other.
