  • WooHoo decision, decisions?

After replying to a previous thread and revealing my ideas on extending the run for the girls etc so I can get some more. I have just told Mr C and he wasn't phased by it in the slighest.

Right, now what should I get?

Currently have, warren, light sussex, black rock, bluebelle, magpie, white star and a speckeldy.

Well you've got nearly every colour of chook except stripey so how about barred plymouth rock or cuckoo maran. Or a pretty blue laced wyandotte.
Or cream legbar and maran to add colour in the egg department.

Welsummers are pretty and Minorcas are stunning with their big white ear lobes and huge floppy combs (they lay lovely pure white eggs too)
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I've got a Wheaten Marans - beautiful big chocolate eggs and a Cream Legbar who lays gorgeous bluey green eggs. The others are a partridge Wyandotte, a Buff Sussex, A Marsh Daisy and a Scots Dumpy. These four lay very similar coloured eggs, but all look different in the feather dept. The Marsh Daisy and the Scots Dumpy are on the endangered list.

I'm planning to get a Speckled Sussex (a must have for me) and either an Exchequer Leghorn or a Dark Cuckoo Marans as I couldn't possibly just introduce one new girl - she'd need a friend, wouldn't she? ;0)

How about a couple of fluffy pekins - they might be small but can hold their own and are great with kids!!!!

Thanks guys. I like the idea of blue/green eggs. Already get the normal egg colour, plus pure white, speckled and dark brown. I don't know what to choose!!!!!

Cream Legbars all the way blue eggs, and will not get bullied like araucanas . They will fit in with your birds you already have.
