  • Poor Bluebell

Didnt make it. Found her this morning. She was still struggling to breath last night, wouldnt sit down at all, maybe because of the 'mass' the vet felt (I at least thought she'd feel inside her vent to check if she was eggbound?)

Maybe it just wasnt comfortable for her, she was clearly knackered. She was still eating and drinking though, I thought she might be ok and just needed a bit longer for the antibiotics but obviously it was all a bit much for her.

we lost a bluebelle just before christmas, just as the cold weather started, behaving normally in the afternoon and when i went out to close them up for the night, she was laying under the coop, when i piked her up,she was already going cold,no warning,no change of behaviour, it makes you very wary as this was our first(and so far only)loss, its then you realise that you, despite vowing not to,have become attached to the little hooligans that supply the eggs.
