Buying hens etc

Saw a thread on here a week or so ago where someone recommended a company that supply hen houses, and by the way they do look good on the website.

I had a look and they will, as a special, supply four hens and all you need to start up for the cost of the house. Is it a good idea to buy hens like this?

It depends on the quality of the hen house and are the chooks the type you really want. Cost-wise the cheapest option is a converted shed (or a large rabbit hutch from Freecycle) and some ex-batts If you were going to get that particular coop anyway, it sounds like a good deal if they're throwing in the feed, bedding, feeders, drinkers, poultry spice etc
