we are being confounded by our birds, two newbies put in yesterday afternoon, with no chasing, squawking, raising the roof, just strolling around ,the odd peck and moan.today they were a bit slower coming out of the coop, still no great hassle,so when i went to collect the eggs,i was quite surprised to find a very small additional egg...now thats what i call "earning your keep",all we need is the other one to start but her comb hasnt got the colour yet but wont be long..its just one stress free increase...and i still dont believe it,but im not knocking it......

update on my two newbies, still no chaos, they just potter about and follow the rest when i lead them round the back to run amok, the only thing is i have to put them into the coop so far, they were stood by the ramp just now and each one let me lift them in,the older one is still giving us an egg a day ...small but good, hasnt missed a day so far, layed about 18hrs after being put in with the rest,i would say the other is 3/4 weeks younger..,i meant to say that when we bought our latest two, they were in a field covered in a foot of snow, they had a big shed for shelter and about 1 acre, surrounded by a leccy fence, the wind was howling down off the hills and they did not seem to mind at all, plenty of food and greens on site....it makes me think we spoil ours...good aint it..
