I haven't seen the marauder. I kinda assumed it was foxy. The back wall into the park is 5'6" (higher in my garden as I have trellis top) although the drop into the park is 8', but fox could get in via other gardens then pop over the fence. I've seen foxes trotting up the street and through the front gardens. They are not shy here.
Many years ago I saw a badger down the road so I guess that is a possibility, but I don't know how it would access the back gardens?
If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess
Hi Dave, we're planning to get chickens this summer and will do anything to protect them that doesn't cost too much cash! Can you post a copy of your plans?
Thanks

They can't climb but they can dig. Any tunnels etc around the perimeter. If you're going to put electric fence round that should deter the bu%%er anyway! whatever it is!

Sure
you will need to give me some time to write out the component list as i haven't done so just yet . £20 is just the price for the unit that controls the spark , The cost of the wire or fence and batteries or mains powers is extra
Its not pritty but it works
as for the wire ,We found are fence free from freecycle.
Could hardly believe the state of the coop this morning. The door to the roosting area was covered in thick mud and the fox had chewed off the wooden rails that hold the windows in and gouged around the bolt so the keep is loose. He must have been sooo close to getting in.
Sorry to hear you're news, what damage has the fox/s done to the coop? I think from what I remember reading a while back we have a similar coop to you just not put anything in it yet as we want it as secure as possible. Any changes I need to make in order for it to be more secure?
