  • another egg question!!

have another egg question, apart from the fishy problem is it true that you shouldn't eat eggs untill they've been stored for at least five days? a french freind told me that our liver's can't handle very fresh eggs, is this a load of old wallop or not? I often eat eggs within hours of them being laid, but not boiled as the white's a bit weird

    It's news to me!

I've been eating mine, sometimes the day they're laid!

Mr. G. boxes them and takes them to sell at work as soon as there's more than six in the rack, so sometimes I have to wait for them to lay before I can have brekkie!

I've never heard of that. And I would have thought many people's livers have more to contend with than a soft-boiled egg!

Didn't want to pick them out in particular - but yes!

...the French and their livers eh????

I think the fat and alcohol intake in a diet would be more of a problem than a super fresh egg!!!!

              Never heard of that though!

I read something about this last week. It was an article about keeping hens but can't remember what magazine it was in. Anyway it said not to eat eggs until at least 2 days old as would cause indigestion.

Never heard that one. Have been eating all sorts of eggs from the just laid ones to several weeks old, and none have caused me harm that I know of!

It was the first time I had read anything like that too. Mind you I usually have enough eggs that I'm eating them about 2 weeks old anyway.
