Never test the depth of the water with both feet

I can't believe how much they are eating!!!...they'll be bigger than mom in no time!

The one on the right has a much smaller tail, and is a smaller chick. Just wondered if that would indicate it was female?

Thanks J for posting the piccies for me!

            Look what I found!!...

            Maran Chicks 2000

It's got measurements of the male:female tail lengths!!...looks like the males' tails grow faster. ( Oh dear- that's certainly 2 then for the freezer!!)

...will keep a close eye on the other 2 now ( they are a week behind in hatching date)

That's a great record. Will be interested to see how yours turn out Nicos.

My chicks are hatching great (100% the last 2 hatches, another due on Sun/Mon) but despite having different mums (same dad for all, a LS) they are all yellow! The same combo produced a golden brown chick on Good Friday, but everyone else is yellow. Have I two hatches that are all male, and the single one a female? Time will tell no doubt.

Sorry Nicos did not mean to hijack your thread.

RH- sounds like you're on a roll with successful hatchings!

( I'm pleased with my 5/6 to be honest- cos it could have been 4/6)

It's a great guessing time trying to work out which sex they are isn't it?
