Pure breed, originally Dutch in origin. Lay lovely dark brown eggs. Cockerels are very handsome (and extremely loud!). I find the hens aren't quite as friendly as my hybrids - quite standoffish really. Have had a couple go broody, but only for a couple of days
They're rather lovely...the Boys look like they could be fiesty?(Very, very handsome though!)
the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

They make a lot of noise and look very fierce, but will scoot away like the laydees if they don't like something...

The boys in the picture all have 1.5 inch spurs and I don't think they know what they are for

Just to be really different, i have put up some pictures of the different turkeys we have. I havent bothered with the bronze as everyone knows what they look like, but i have posted up pictures of Crollwitzer (White), Slate (Grey) and the Buff - which look almost chocolate.

Are these the new chocolate poultry breed for 2010?? No good at Christmas, a chocolate turkey would melt when you put it in the oven!
