hi all yesterday i noticed blood in the coop. All 3 girls look fine/eating well etc but this morning more blood this is not a streak but enough to actually run down the slope (hope that makes sense). They are 2 fairly new ex-batts, been with us 2 months and one 'old girl' who we've had for over a year. Lately I have had lots of soft/no shell eggs. Cannot see any obvious wounds but just wondered if anyone can help. Also I'm still adding limestone to their food-do you think I shuold stop? Help Please!!

could be a "pin feather" has been plucked by one of the other girls. sometomes when sorting out pecking order (which if they are two new girls they might still be doing so) they peck at each other. if they catch a new pin feather the blood goes everywhere as they are packed full of blood as they grow.
the good news is that if a pin feather is bleeding, ou stop it by plucking it out as that cuts off the blood supply, and in the case of a pecking match they usually pluck the feather out.
keep an eye on it however, as it can be habit forming for ex-batts who in their short lives in small cages have had no other source of entertainment apart from pulling each others feathers out.
hopefully in a new run with more space and more interesting things to look at it will soon cease.
