ummm, all girls but not Sox, have really mucky bots, never seen this before apart from scarlet, seem completely healthy, everyone laying everyday, is it a thing that needs attention, they are free ranging for a few hours a day, might it be the spring grass like with the horses?

Might be worms, when did you last worm them? Might be something they have found to eat if they are free ranging which has upset them a bit. If they were previously clear and have just now starting having mucky bums then I would favour the worm theory. Grass does not normally upset chooks, however fresh. The wormer of choice, Flubenvet, is easy to get on line if your vet in France does not have it.
The other thing might be something you have given them as scraps/treats? Can you think of anything you have fed them lately which they don't normally get?Last edited by RichmondHens; 09-04-2010, 08:23 AM.

After a winter of being fine,Marigold is back to having a really dirty bum again
All of the others are fine,so I'm pretty sure it's nothing environmental.Think she's going to have to suffer a warm bath later. Is there anything either genetic or illness wise that could be causing it?the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx
