Cuddled my Light Sussex cockerel when I moved him today. He's big teddy bear........not like the other vicious Silver Sussex I have!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)
I cuddle my girls all the time, some like to sit on the sofa for a while, and some like to sunbathe in front of the fire! will try to put some pictures up
We are ALL mad!
I really love my girls. My neighbours and their kids like them too and feed them veg peelings/rice/pasta!
Today, Merry (aged 7) asked me if I kept the chooks just for eggs.
I had to answer her honestly and say that whilst I loved the eggs, I find my hens restful to have around. The "bok, bok" of a contended chicken relieves stress and is very calming!
I have 2 who are very sociable and actually seem to LIKE cuddles, plus a renagade "punk" black rock hybrid who is totally flighty! Keep trying with her, but she doesn't like to be touched!
I'm pleased to say that my little grandaughter of 2 years old comes to feed the hens and collect eggs when she comes to see me. ( A bit wary of giving them leaves thro the wire of the run..."Nanna help!")

I've had several Light Sussex cockerals in the past who have been real pussy cats!
The very worst cockeral I ever had was a Rhodie. My kids named him "Dracula" and declined extra spending money for cleaning out hen houses and collecting eggs.
I had to keep him off with a garden cane when I collected eggs and up turn a dustbin over the s*d to clean out the henhouse!
Strangely, I never had ANY trouble with my geese.
The washing line was in their paddock, so they got used to me going in there.....but god help the gas man when he came to top up the LPG tank!!
I cuddle all my girls too. Fred who because he was Fred and not Fanny, who now lives with OverWyreGrower, follows Shelley around, likes to know what she is doing and is still very friendly.

Appreciate the little things in life because one day you will realise they are the big things
i cuddle mine when I get the time, but if I sit down for a coffee break they all charge over and some of them leap on me Could be the bicis
My Silver Sussex cockeral (called Snadger ) is big softie. If I pick him up, at risk of a hernia, he just sits there with his legs dangling and chunners at me.
Anyone who says nothing is impossible has never tried slamming a revolving door
cuddle my zelda and you'd never play the violin again!
Lol...........
