OH and I are staying in a cottage near Ludlow last week in February (I've been there before with Dexter and his Aunty Margaret) and there is a herd of alpacas - one of them had given birth the day before we went - was lovely animals. Shame they were a little bit shy, I would love to give them a cuddle. Maybe at the end of February! DDL

There's a woman who keeps alpacas round here, keep meaning to go up and have a look and perhaps buy some nice cosy new socks.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I just bought some Alpaca wool off of eBay - lovely stuff to knit with, so soft.

It is like angora, but I don't think that's tickly...whereas Mohair definitely is tickly/scratchy

Not too sure where the farm is but the woman is always at the Abbey Leys farmers market which is first Sunday in every month so you've just missed it! Last week she was doing a roaring trade in insoles for shoes.

LOL - I am super sensitive to tickly yarns. Thanks for the advice - will stick to cotton!

Another bit of useful / useless information about Alpacas - they sh*t in pellet form - like sheep or rabbits - and you can buy these ready bagged - supposed to be really good for hanging baskets, or so the advert states

Anything that sh""s pellets is good as far as I am concerned. The guinea poo goes onto the compost heap. WHY DON'T CAT S**T PELLETS - I know they eat meat so you can't use it on the compost heap, but it would be so much easier to clean up
