  • Built a henhouse for my chicks.

Well its an 8X6 shed really! I intend using it as a staging post until they can go outdoors. It has three windows across one side so they will have loads of light.
What I am worried about is ventilation as after seing 'cool hand luke' stuck in the sweatbox I'm a wee bit worried.
Hopefully all seven chicks will only be in there for a month or so but had thought about taking one of the windows out and replacing it with mesh?

    Wadya think?

You could replace one or more windows with mesh and make a removable shutter of thin ply or similar which could be held in place by thumb turn thingys or even a sliding shutter. Gives you more options that way.
Good idea to have a chick staging post though.

The windows are flexible polycarbonate so can be popped out very easily and replaced with mesh if need be.
Hopefully I'll get it finished and water tight today!

        Water-tight mesh - sounds great!

hmmm when you finalize the design and patent the watertight mesh Snadger, mind if I test the product for durability?
Never test the depth of the water with both feet

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory....

Its a northern thing. Only available to areas where when it rains vertically its classed as a nice day!

Changed my mind anyway......after finishing the shed I deemed it too good for chooks so I moved my stuff in!
