  • It all comes at once

Having seen my hatch start with a bang yesterday, when I went up to put all to bed tonight I suddenly thought that it was two or three nights since my little wyandotte banty hen had come out for supper. Shes come out in the morning, but not at night. Shes been sitting on eggs, and I did a quick count on my fingers and realised that its now around a week, and the little angel actually IS broody. My very first ever broody hen. Hope she stays the course. Shes got four of her own, one cream legbar (dont ask) and two barred wyandotte eggs, and is sitting there fluffed up and happy as Larry.

      I'm jealous!

I'd be happy if just one of mine would get broody. Even whilst trying to deter one of the egg eaters with a plastic egg, none of them wanted to try and hatch it!
