      But maternity is taken until the chicks are old enough to go into the real world. Koko is a Wheaten Maran she is a sweetie but when I separate Cookie at six weeks I'll be buying 3/4 POLs so Cookie will not go back into the main flock alone, by then I'm sure we'll get one of the others go broody too .

        I'm sure there will be many more broodies yet - think an extension to the maternity ward is required!!

        She is lovely though - I bet she lays lovely dark eggs.

          She does, and so does her sister Atilla, the maternity wing is one whole stable extension not viable
