........I said we'd never hatch babies.
A few weeks ago, our wyandotte went seriously broody, so we stuck her on a quails egg that we found in a dead quail who was on the menu for DD's harris hawk. Unsurprisingly, nothing came of the egg as it had been frozen and then Shirley the Wyandotte stepped on it and crushed it.
So, DD was sneaky and brought home four Frizzle/Silky cross eggs from Secret World, the rescue centre she works at on Saturdays. Today they all four hatched, although we lost the biggest chick when it got stamped on by the mother.
We have been totally bitten by the hatching bug, and have 18 eggs in our incy, due in a fortnight!!
