What kind of house? A Wendy house, or a chicken house or what?? I didn't know they were that rich in Tottenham, Danny, to give away bricks and mortar!
Ha,
Chicken House apparently. The lady advertising said she was fed up of her girls getting attacked by foxes, didn't really want to delve much more as this stage.
Durr -I'm not the sharpest knife in the block this morning Danny - I read your post but not the forum! Well here's to a successful bid - we had a thread a while ago about the best bids being in rhyme- and a fox free Tottenham. Urban fox was living in my garden for a while and it a tiny courtyard garden!
lololololol......I arranged everything to get chooks without Mr Apple's prior knowledge. He found out a when the delivery van brought the flat pack chicken house.
The path of true love was a little rocky for a bit, but he did set to and help me paint the chook house inside and put a decent coat of preservative on the outside.
He was a bit sneery about the soppiness I showed the first four girlies, and then I conned him nto getting two more. We went to visit a chook breeder 'just to see' and I had snuck two cat carriers into the back and already bought my two girls from the breeder.
It didn't take long for the girls to soften him up and now he's as fond of the chooks as I am and can often be heard having a chat with them. This week he's fallen in love with our new chicks, but they aren't staying for long!
I'm sure your Mrs will be fine, just treat her carefully for a while!

Good luck with getting it, I know how awful the wait is when applying for items on freecycle. Just yesterday I was having my neighbour rally round to get some pallets for me from 2 fellow freecycler's 20 miles away... but it was all worth it when the girl's got an extension to their run.
And my hubby thought I was deranged when I started bringing poorly chooks into our own house, you should of seen he's face when they got their first bath!
But a year down the line and he's as mad about them as I am, couldn't find him in the house this morning when I woke up... he wasn't even in he's usual hideaway (he's shed).
There he was down at the bottom of the garden talking to the girls!
When is her birthday?
What a lovely surprise pressie- esp if she can choose 'her' chooks!!!
After all- you must have heard her say something in the distant past about lovely fresh eggs!!!
Just make sure she knows you are intending to do the cleaning out bit
..you can't miss a bargain can you!
( it was the pooh bit that sort of put me off having chooks to start with, until I realised that they didn't have to be deep littered in stinky shavings- but 5 mins a day would leave them in a clean, smell free environment)
I'll never regret having them now!
