My light Sussex seems to have been broody forever and is still not laying. When kept out of the nest box and allowed to free range she is out and about but as soon as the box is opened she goes back. She now seems to be moulting as when she shakes quite a few feathers seem to be dropping. I was wondering a few things, is it normal to moult and be or getting over being broody, should I be feeding her something extra I have poultry spice to add or maybe marmite in some form. Would her feather loss be due to her being out of condition due to the broodiness. Any advice would be appreciated.

She will be moulting due to the fact she has been broody. All my broodies shed loads of feathers following their brooding. In fact at the moment the bantam pen looks like someone has emptied a pillow or three out in there. My big birds don't go broody so it'll be another month or more before they start to moult.
I don't tend to give mine anything extra when they are moulting. You can always add a little poultry spice if you like but she will be fine on her layers pellets. She will need lots of protein to regrow her feathers. -
Thankyou this bird seems to cause me much distress if she is moulting does that mean she is coming out of being broody or just a side effect it has gone on forever although she is getting back to her normal naughty selfComment

My broody has been sitting for a month. Stopped about a week ago and now moulting loads. Laid yesterday and today.Comment
