please can someone tell me the difference between the supermarket ACV and the poultry one

I understand that the supermarket one is filtered and pasturised- so maybe some of the qualities needed for worming are reduced?

The stuff you get from horsie shops that is added to chicken water contains stringy bits which show it's the unadulterated McCoy.

You'll find the poultry one is cheaper per litre or however they do it!

Still wondering why they insist on describing it as APPLE cider vinegar, when cider is made from apples anyway! (I suspect there is a proper name for acidified cider anyway, Malt vinegar would more properly be termed Alegar, but no-one bothers about it)


BTW, just ignore me when I get a bit obsessive about this sort of thing.....

dont use the supermarket one as it doesnt have all the goodies in it like the horsey one that is unfiltered, unadulterated and a hell of a lot cheaper

just dont use ACV if you have metal or galvanised drinkers as it will poison the birds

I have just bought 2 litres of ACV - how much do I add per litre to the water for the chooks please? What are the benefits of it alltogether?

2l? Well that should last you a while

I usually add 5ml per litre, and once a week give them a bit of a boost with 10ml.

It was the smallest size they did at the farmer's co-op Will they come to any harm if it isn't measured accurately?

The recommended dose is 10ml per litre but most folk put a couple of glugs in the drinker!
