Quite agree with Glutton. The breed was developed for battery cages so there was the need for a calm nature. I love mine and I think no matter what else I have there'll always be a few in my flock. In fact they're so friendly they are in imminent danger of being trodden on as they spend all their time following me around the allotment!
Yep, my mum has two and they are full of character - they jump all over her spade when she is digging, looking for worms, and nearly get sliced up in the process.
i have two of them, one is a laid back "pet" and the other has been renamed "queenie" (after steve mcqueen) as she seems to escape every time my wife goes in there, but they love being fed by hand,so no trouble rounding them up....good luck with them ,you will enjoy them...
warrens have arrived and they are great Flo, Dot, and Maggie, Flo is feisty, Dot is nosey, and Maggie is blonde!!! they are real characters and we have only had them 3 days, the wife loves them and she has a fobia about feathers!!!thanks for the advice on helping me to choose my new hens
