    • Aww sorry G4. It really was difficult, especially as I really thought it was going to be seriously deforms at one point. I thought it was stuck to the shell all down one side, and the thought that I could have been hurting it or even killing it was bladdy hard. I was shaking like a leaf!

Are you going to inccy some more eggs this year?
      Little ol' me

      Has just bagged a Lottie!
Oh and the chickens are taking over my garden!

I've just looked it up on map and I'm 100 miles away from Earl Shilton so it's not a viable option for me but I hope there's a Grape nearer who can take these poor little mites on.
        Someone PLEASE................................

Will happily take them if you can get them to me. Good home guaranteed! But I'm sure someone closer to you should be able to take on 4 pullets. How old are they?

          • what a shame the school didnt think about cute chicks growing into big birds the same as cute pups and kittens grow into dogs and cats. Im too far away to help im sorry unless there is a transport chain required that takes in some of this area

I will be at Billing Aquadrome for the Land Rover show in July. That's about as near as I can get...

That's exactly how I felt, Munch.

Yes, as soon as we get back from our trip away in July.

                • Oh has already seen some more eggs he wants!

The problem we have is space! and time before it starts getting too cold to put them outside as youngsters.

I would love them and have room but although I don't know where it is, I'm guessing Earls Shilton is many miles from me. It's unbelieveably difficult to get new girls in this area.

                      • Update on the little fella!!

Yesterday he did not eat or even venture from under the lamp, just laid down nearly all day.

This Morning, the little fighter is out tucking into its breakfast and running around with the rest of them YAY

I really think he is going to be fine (touch wood)

                        • Feel really annoyed and slightly stupid! Did the usual of gathering the eggs and putting them in my pocket and forgetting they were there. Hence, 5 minutes later my lovely new smart phone is covered in raw egg and won't work!!

                          Not so smart now!! grrr

                            • polo, i do that all the time.... chicks hatching- munch - really exciting but i hate to tell you that help outs never seem to make decent birds- i leg ring ours so I know not to breed from them. Well done though - it is nerve racking.
As for these school projects Grrrrrrrrrrr....... irresponsible. time for a 'round robin' to all schools, me thinks.

                              • For lots of reasons, I wish we had more land. But this morning a new reason arose. It's a bl**dy awful way to 'dispose' of a feathered friend - double-bagged in the wheelie bin. Seems very disrespectful, after they've made you giggle, cheered you up and given you eggs for years.

If we had land, I could have buried poor Buffy with dignity, out of the reach of foxes etc. What a way to go
