If dad was a light sussex they will all look like him, girls too, so you may be pleasantly surprised. You only get the sex link colouring if the hen is LS and the dad is Rhodie. Then the yellow chicks are boys and the darker ones girls. What are your black ones?

They are all mixed; Light Sussex and Rhode Island Red Cocks, running with Red, Grey, Cream, Speckled, and Brown Hybrid Hens! Wait and see, I guess.

Whatever they are, I simply cannot leave them alone! Broody has got so used to me sitting there, she's even given up hissing at me.

They've been out in the run today, and have now become brave enough to leave Mum, and run to the other end of the run and back. It's only about four or five feet in length, but it's a big step for them.

Here's this afternoon's pics. I have taken a video of them, in the coop, but haven't worked out how to transfer it off my mobile yet!
