That means all the black ones are girls and half the yellow!

Here's the latest pics; I took them yesterday, so they were exactly one week old. It's persisting it down, and black as night out there this evening, so I'm not taking any pics today!

And, just to bore you further, here are some I took a few minutes ago.

All four black ones have long wings and tail feathers, as do three of the yellows. The other three yellows have short wings and no tail feathers. So, Is that seven girls and three boys, or t'other way round? They are nine days old today.

Looks like Mummy's turned into a climbing frame G4...there still really cute...bless. I'm a very proud God-Mummy ya know . I was showing a friend last night all ya photos of the baby's...she went all silly and started to stroke the screen, I haven't a clue where she got that idea from

And, just to bore you further, here are some I took a few minutes ago.

You might have to wait a bit longer. I also go by the tail/wing development (not so easy in crossbreeds) , and also the combs. Yours are a bit small yet but in another week or so you should start seeing more comb development on the boys. They will be pinker and fleshier looking. You'll also start noticing a size difference - boys will start looking slightly bigger/taller.

Whatever they are, you have some lovely healthy looking chicks there G4.

Awwww thanks. Very lucky, I think to get so many, and have no problems with any of them (so far!). It's all down to Mummy-Chook, I reckon. She's absolutely devoted to them - made for motherhood.

While no simple early guide is foolproof, it is often easier to spot boys (no tail by the time the wings are doing well) than girls (tend to grow tails sooner, but not quite always!!)

Yes, I'm still obsessed. They had a feast of scrambled egg again this afternoon - went mad for it!
