aww, how lovely!! They're just a bit younger than my d'uccles I think...I haven't seen the poorly one tonight as they were in bed when I got back, but she wasn't feet up in the run so thats better 'n' nothin'!

ps one of them is coming through as grey cuckoo!! The patterning is broken at the moment on his feet which have alternate whole black or white foot feathers, but deffo cuckoo on his back! he's a feisty little blighter too, which is good.

How is she? Sounds like coccidiosis. I keep coxoid in my cupboard. Also apple cider vinegar from day one and extra clean brooders.

I had a bit of a shock here this morning. Went out to move the coop and run, before letting the Vultures out, and the bladdy side of the coop came away! One little Vulture escaped onto the grass, and started to leg-it. Good job I was awake, and caught the little blighter!

To anyone reading this, DO NOT buy one of those pretty little coops they sell across the country. They cost the same as a shed and last as long as a cardboard box! GRRRRRRR

..thanks Scarlet - she has chick crumbs which are medicated for coccidiosis and I tried them on ACv but they weren't keen on it. I've also tried probiotic yogurt with porridge and she looks a bit more lively. Can I dose her with coxoid as well as give her medicated crumbs? I don't want to over dose her.....

You should give plain feed if you're giving Coxoid. (Read it on another forum.)

Sorry, yes plain feed when your dosing with coxoid. Double check first, if one has it the rest of the flock would be infected. Have you seen watery/runny poo with blood in? Are any of the others looking a little lethargic?

                              • Hello again,
yes I've seen just one poo with a very runny white and blood in it. The other chicks seem fine and lively. So, I need to buy plain chick crumbs and coxoid? (is it just called 'coxoid'?). Will I get these at WCF? I'm doing a stall at the Westmorland Show tomoz so no chance of getting out then, unless a stallholder sells these things......
                                Boo.
                                Any advice gratefully recieved.
