I have a couple of black copper Maranses chickens (hens) who will be ready to sell on in a week or two/few weeks. These are the sort that lay nice dark brown eggs.
They are nearly 7 weeks old and are used to being outdoors and free-ranging for much of the time, and so this is what I'd like them to have in their next home. Just being the two of them, they will need to be part of a flock, so you'd need to have or be getting at least a couple more hens.
Although, I might consider selling the three females together - haven't quite decided on whether to keep one of them.
I also have a couple of black copper Maranses cockerels (free) of the same age if anyone is keen to have one to keep with their flock. It is not desperate for them as I can take them back to the farm, - ie they are not otherwise destined for the pot - but if there is a nice free range home going for them that would be lovely. So if you are not too far from West Lothian and are interested, let me know
