  • Red worms?

Some of the poo has been getting red lumps in it this past week or so. Thought they were "lash's" at first but on close examination they seem to be very fine (like sewing thread") worms. If they are worms what kind will they be? I wormed autumn & spring then again about 6 weeks ago when I noticed a round worm in a stool. How often can I safely worm? The girls seem happy & healthy enough running round & laying well. BTW my daughter won a first for contents & second for three brown eggs at a local agricultural show last Sunday. Very small entry but she was extremely chuffed. More chuffed then when she got her exam results today

Did you worm with Flubenvet? It's the only effective wormer for all types of worm. If you are uncertain about the type of worm take a sample into the vet for identification and then they can prescribe the right treatment.

If your hens are in a fixed pen year round, ie running on the same area, then ideally you should worm 4 times a year.
